‘Test batter’ Sadman’s first T20 century

Desk Report:

Sadman Islam Anik is in great form in the National Cricket League (NCL). He missed out on a fifty for one run in the previous match against Sylhet. Today, the Bangladesh cricketer made up for that loss quite well against Barisal. He scored a century with excellent batting. This is Sadman’s first century in his T20 career.

On the day of his century, Barisal did not get any attention from Dhaka Metropolitan. Rakibul Hasan’s team lost to them by a huge margin of 96 runs. Barisal’s innings ended for just 101 runs in response to Metropolitan’s 197 runs. Interestingly, Sadman was out for the same number of runs after reaching the magic three-digit figure. His 61-ball innings was decorated with 11 fours and 4 sixes; strike rate 165.57. Mahfizul Islam Robin did not fall short. The opener scored 79 runs in 49 balls, hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes.

On the day of the batting storm of Sadman and Mahfizul, Iftikhar Hossain Ifti of Barisal was excellent with the ball. He took 4 wickets in just 2 overs. He gave away only 10 runs. Ruel Mia was the most expensive among the bowlers of Barisal. This pacer was wicketless for 42 runs in 3 overs. Sohag Gazi spent 35 runs in 4 overs.

Chasing a huge target, Barisal could not give any answer to the bowling of Maruf Mridha, Rakibul, Abu Haider Ronid. Azmir Ahmed scored the highest 26 runs in 24 balls for them. 18 runs came from the bat of Zahiduzzaman Khan. Fazle Mahmud Rabbi scored 16 runs. Maruf was the most successful with the ball for the city. This left-arm pacer took 3 wickets for 15 runs. Rakib and Roni took two wickets each.
