State and university authorities want to implement master plan together: Rizvi

Desk Report:

Regarding the student union elections in universities, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the state and university authorities are trying to implement a master plan together. He said this at a discussion meeting and prayer meeting at the National Press Club in the capital on Sunday (September 14).

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “Whether a deep blueprint is being prepared by the state and university authorities to eradicate nationalist forces or not – this has become a matter of concern for people today. The state and university authorities are trying to implement a master plan together, where it is being said – we have driven out the Awami League, now we have to defeat the BNP too. Isn’t this part of their deep blueprint?”

The Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh organized this program to mark the physical illness of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and the 18th release day of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Rizvi said, “Some forces are emerging in the country that pose a serious threat to the practice of democracy, religious freedom and cultural diversity. The rise of the forces we are seeing is dangerous for the democracy of those countries, dangerous for the practice of democracy and dangerous for the religious consciousness of the people.”

Regarding the DUCSU and JACSU elections, Rizvi said, “The ballot papers for the DUCSU and JACSU elections were printed by a privately owned institution, whose owner has close ties to a particular political party. Isn’t this an irregularity?”

Rizvi said, “The ballot papers could have been printed through a government press. But instead, they were printed in a private press. Seeing such irregularities, even the teachers of Jahangirnagar have stepped down from their responsibilities.”

Criticizing the role of the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Rizvi said, “The Vice Chancellor of DU has created a code of conduct, which states that former students will not be able to enter the campus.” But the university is a reflection of the aspirations of a lifetime. The university has a spiritual relationship with its former students. It is not an isolated place. The VC has played a purposeful role by conniving with some pro-government people to monopolize the university elections.

The BNP leader also said that many of those who were in the coup in the past now want to establish a new culture. They want to establish cultural dominance. BNP practices a political and cultural culture mixed with the soil of the country. On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami wants to propagate Islam. However, Islam has been established in the country long ago. If they want to propagate the Maududi doctrine, then the people also have their opinion.
