July-August murders: Report sub The investigation agency has submitted an investigation report against three people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, to the prosecution in connection with the killing of protesters across the country in July-August. The other two are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.

The report was submitted on Monday afternoon. Later, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam presented the report to reporters.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said that five charges have been brought against Sheikh Hasina and three others in the report. Now, after analyzing the report, a formal charge sheet will be submitted to the tribunal.

Regarding the charges, Tajul Islam said that Sheikh Hasina has incited and directly ordered the commission of crimes against humanity. Many call records, audio-videos of her have been found in this regard. In addition, there are allegations about three specific incidents.

However, the Chief Prosecutor did not want to disclose them right away.

The Chief Prosecutor said that the report states that about 1,500 people were killed, more than 25,000 people were shot and injured, women were particularly subjected to violence, bodies were gathered and burned, the injured were prevented from being taken to the hospital, post-mortems were prevented, and doctors were prevented from providing treatment.

Regarding Sheikh Hasina, he said that Sheikh Hasina herself went to the hospital and said that these admitted patients should not be treated. When the patients wanted to leave the hospital because they could not bear the pain, they were not given that opportunity, and were ordered to be cut off if they rotted.

Regarding the arson of various state establishments, Tajul Islam said that Sheikh Hasina had ordered her own people to set fire to various government establishments to pin the blame on the protesters.

Earlier on May 9, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said, “The International Criminal Tribunal’s investigation agency will submit the investigation report on the July massacre against Sheikh Hasina to the Chief Prosecutor on Monday.”

On the same day, he also said in a Facebook post, “After the investigation report is submitted, the formal trial against Hasina will begin by filing a formal complaint, i.e., a “formal charge.”

The Chief Prosecutor also said, “An investigation report has already been submitted against senior police officers for the Chankharpul massacre. A formal charge for the formal trial for that murder will be submitted this week, and through this, the formal trial of the July massacre will begin, God williNang.”
