The protesting teachers and students of Jagannath University (JU) will observe a mass hunger strike from tomorrow, Friday after Juma. This was stated by the General Secretary of the University Teachers’ Association, Professor Dr. Md. Raish Uddin, while announcing the new program at 12 midnight today, Friday.
Professor Raish Uddin said, “Since they do not feel the need to listen to us, you media are our resource. Our demands will not be met or we will die. We have not received a green signal from the government yet. We will leave the place when there is a clear statement from the government. Our ongoing program will continue. The teachers and students will spend the night here. Tomorrow, Friday, a gathering of former and current JU students will be held at 10 am. We will sit on a mass hunger strike after Juma.”
