2025 is a special year for Jaya Ahsan fans. The actress is appearing in front of the audience of both Bengals with one work after another. It started with OTT. Jaya Ahsan‘s first web series ‘Jimmi’ was released on March 28. After that, five movies starring Jaya were released in theaters in both Bengals. Finally, ‘Putulnacher Itikatha’, which she starred in, was released in West Bengal on August 1. Jaya is coming back to the screen without losing the excitement of this movie. Two of her movies are coming to theaters and OTT in the country. ‘Fereshte’ will be released in theaters, and ‘Jaya Aur Sharmin’ is coming to OTT.
Fereshte is a joint production of Bangladesh and Iran. It was made by Iranian director Murtaza Atash Zamzam. Fereshte is made about the story of an underprivileged family. Apart from Jaya Ahsan, the film also stars Sumon Faruk, Rikita Nandini Shimu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahed Ali, Shaheen Mridha, Shishu Shilpi Sathi, etc. Jaya Ahsan is also associated with the production of the film.
After its production in 2022, Fereshte was screened at various international film festivals. The film was screened at Iran’s Fajr Film Festival last year and won Iran’s National Award for Humanistic Perspective. It was also the opening film of the Dhaka International Film Festival last year. This time, it is the turn of its release in theaters.
It has been learned from talking to Lion Cinemas and Star Cineplex that Fereshte may be released in the country’s theaters this month. Yesterday, the Facebook page of Lion Cinemas in Keraniganj shared the poster of the film Fereshte and wrote, “Coming soon.” Star Cineplex said that discussions are underway with the producers regarding the release of Fereshte. The release date will be announced once everything is finalized. When contacted, Jaya Ahsan did not comment on the matter.
On the other hand, yesterday, OTT platform Charki announced that Jaya and Sharmin will be released on the platform this September. The film, directed by Piplu R Khan, was released in theaters on May 16.
The story of the movie Jaya and Sharmin is based on two women. Jaya is an actress; the other is her assistant. Due to the Corona pandemic, they are forced to live a life of house arrest for a long time, separated from the outside world. Initially, their relationship was professional. But with time, the scope of that relationship increased. Cooking together, talking, reminiscing about old memories—they became each other’s companions in everything. Even then, there was an invisible wall between this closeness. The difference between Jaya’s stardom and Sharmin’s ordinary life complicated their relationship at one point. The story of the ups and downs of the relationship can be seen in this movie.
In this, Jaya Ahsan plays the role of Jaya and Mohsina Akhtar plays the role of Sharmin. Like Feresht, Jaya is also the co-producer of this movie.
