India replaces Rohit with Gill as ODI captain

Along with the ODIs, the BCCI has also named a team for the 5-match T20I series against Australia. As usual, India will play under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.

It was not easy for BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar to remove Rohit from the ODI captaincy. Even then, his selection panel has taken a new decision considering the team. Agarkar said, “We have to see what is ahead. We have to consider the interests of the team. We have to try to take a decision as soon as possible, reasonably, so that another player (Gill) can be given a good opportunity.”

India and Australia will play the first ODI of the series in Perth on October 19. The two teams will face each other in the second ODI on October 23. Venue Adelaide. India and Australia will play the last match in Sydney on October 25. The T20I series will start on October 29.
