The Hajj Association of Bangladesh (HAB), an organization of private Hajj agency owners, has announced three Hajj packages. The Hajj package was announced at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday.
HAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumder told Ajker Patrika that they announced three Hajj packages two days after the government announced them. The one near the Haram Sharif costs 750,000 taka. Apart from this, it will be possible to perform the Hajj next year at a certain distance for 550,000 and 510,000 taka. Although it was announced that the food cost would be borne by the individual in the government package, the food cost has been included in the package at the private level.
Earlier, at a press conference at the Ministry of Religion at the Secretariat on Sunday, Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain announced the 2026 Hajj package under government management.
The Religious Affairs Advisor said that a new package has been made under government management; where the minimum cost has been set at 467,167 taka. In addition, the airfare for next year is being reduced by 12,990 taka. He said that last year the airfare was 167,820 taka. This year the airfare has been set at 154,830 taka.
The initial registration of those interested in performing Hajj next year began on July 27. The initial registration will end on October 12. Initial registration can be done by depositing 350,000 taka. Next year, 127,198 people from Bangladesh will be able to perform Hajj.
This year, a total of three packages have been set by the government under the title ‘Hajj Package-1 (Special)’, ‘Hajj Package-2’ and ‘Hajj Package-3’. Under Package-1, pilgrims will be provided with accommodation within a maximum of 700 meters from the outer courtyard of Haram Sharif in Mecca and in Mar Kazia or the central area in Medina. The cost of this package has been set at 610,597 taka.
The full amount of the package price must be deposited by December 31. Hajj contract on November 9; The house rental and transportation contracts will have to be made by February 1 next year. The Hajj visa issuance process will start from February 8.
Religious Advisor Khalid Hossain said that Hajj Package-2 is somewhat affordable. The pilgrims of this package will be provided with accommodation facilities within 1.2 kilometers to 1.8 kilometers from the outer courtyard of Haram Sharif in Mecca and in Mar Kazia or the central area. The cost of this package has been estimated at 5 lakh 58 thousand 881 taka.
The Religious Advisor said that Hajj Package-3 is an affordable package. The pilgrims of this package will be accommodated in the Azizia area in Mecca and outside the Mar Kazia area in Medina. The cost of this package has been estimated at 4 lakh 67 thousand 167 taka.
The Advisor said that Hajj Package-3 is a new addition for the pilgrims of the government medium. Never before has accommodation been provided to the pilgrims of the government medium in the Azizia area. However, pilgrims from Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia, the three countries that send the most pilgrims, have been kept in the Azizia area for a long time.
The Saudi government has increased the amount of health insurance for Hajj next year by 130 Saudi riyals, or about 4,270 taka in Bangladeshi currency.
