The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations may be published by the middle of next month.
This Friday afternoon, Dhaka Education Board’s Examination Controller and Inter-Education Board Examination Regulatory Committee convener Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider informed Fast Bangla about this information.
Kamal Uddin Haider said, ‘According to the Public Examination Act, there is an obligation to publish the results within 60 days of the completion of the written examination. Accordingly, the results will have to be published by October 19.
‘I hope, it will be possible to publish the results of the HSC examination by the middle of next month.’
This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations began on June 26, which was supposed to end on August 13. But after the examinations of some subjects were postponed and the schedule was re-published, it ended on August 19.
This time, 12 lakh 51 thousand 111 candidates participated under 11 education boards. Of them, 6 lakh 18 thousand 15 were boys and 6 lakh 33 thousand 96 were girls. The exam was conducted at 2,797 centers across the country.
About 27,000 students were absent from the exam. As a result, 1.2 million students are waiting for the results.
