Former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar met with Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He went to the Secretariat on Sunday (September 14) afternoon. Later, he spoke to reporters.
Lutfuzzaman Babar went to the Home Ministry after a long 17 years and six months. There, he expressed his concerns about some issues in the meeting with the Home Affairs Advisor.
When asked about what kind of concerns, the former State Minister said that Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina, who had fled to India, had a meeting with the country’s large industrial group S Alam Group. In that meeting, a conspiracy was made to cause violence in the election and thwart it. Apart from that, he expressed concerns that illegal and looted weapons were not recovered.
When asked about the law and order situation in the country as a former State Minister, Babar said that efforts are being made to improve the law and order situation considerably.
When asked about Tarique Rahman, the BNP leader said that Tarique Rahman will return to the country very soon.
According to Home Ministry sources, the former State Minister for Home Affairs held a meeting with the Home Affairs Advisor in a largely confidential manner this afternoon.
Lutfuzzaman Babar was the Member of Parliament for Netrokona-4 constituency and State Minister for Home Affairs in Khaleda Zia’s cabinet from 2001 to 2006.
