Eid-ul-Azha: Advance bus ticket sales begin on May 16

DeskReport

Bus owners will start selling advance tickets for long-distance buses from May 16 on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Tickets for journeys from May 29 until Eid will be covered under this advance sale. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association.

On Wednesday (May 14) afternoon, the organization’s acting general secretary, Subhankar Ghosh Rakesh, informed Ajker Patrika about the matter.

Subhankar Ghosh Rakesh said that bus owners have decided to sell advance tickets from Friday, May 16. From this day, passengers will be able to buy bus tickets online and from the counter simultaneously. However, many transport companies will now sell tickets completely online. As a result, passengers will get tickets both from the bus counter and online.

Regarding the additional fare, Shyamoli NR Travels Managing Director Subhankar Ghosh Rakesh said, “The bus fare will be charged as per the fare fixed by BRTA. No additional fare will be charged outside the fare list. This instruction has been given to all owners.”

Regarding the AC bus fare, Rakesh said, “There was a lot of criticism about the AC bus fare last Eid. Since the government does not fix the fare of AC buses, the owners set a fare according to how luxurious their vehicle is. This time, we, the owners, have sat down and decided to keep the AC bus fare at a tolerable level.”
