Desk Report:
The Election Commission is not able to dare to give the Shapla symbol to the NCP due to any pressure despite the absence of legal obstacles, said Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) in the northern region.
He made this comment while talking to reporters after the coordination meeting of the NCP’s district and upazila committees in Moulvibazar on Thursday afternoon.
Sarjis Alam said that the fascist Awami League and Jatiya Party (JP) will not be able to participate in any future elections in Bangladesh, their parties should be banned and the party should be tried.
The NCP leader said, “The Election Commission (EC) is not able to dare to give the Shapla symbol to the NCP due to any pressure despite the absence of legal obstacles. This is their failure, they are not able to show that much courage.” If they are really in trouble, then we have asked for a white lotus, a red lotus.’
Regarding the harassment in New York, the NCP’s main organizer said, ‘When the government went on a tour with those who led the student-public uprising, the government should have taken preventive measures. The government did not take this, it is negligence.
This is a limitation, the government must accept responsibility for this. We want the steps not to end with a statement later taking responsibility. The government must take clear action against this. We are looking forward to it.’
At that time, NCP joint convener Ehtesham Haque, joint member secretary Pritam Das, Moulvibazar district NCP chief coordinator Fahad Alam and other leaders were present.
