Desk Report:
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Shahadat Hossain has made serious allegations against Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, one of the young leaders of the July Uprising and advisor to the interim government. The BNP leader has accused him of ‘taking home’ and ‘disappearing important files’.
The mayor said this while inaugurating the cleanliness awareness campaign-2025 of the private university Chittagong Independent University on Monday.
Shahadat Hossain said that no results have been received yet after informing the chief advisor about the important project to purchase garbage collection equipment to make Chittagong a clean city. Three projects are still in the local government ministry. When the advisor sees the files of these projects, he does not keep the files in the ministry. He takes them home. This is a very distressing picture. The files are there, everything is there. They (the advisors) take them home very nicely. The files disappear from the ministry.
At the time, the chief guest, Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor in charge of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, advised the mayor to develop a waste management system and said that he would try to finance the projects of the Chittagong City Corporation.
The program was attended by Kihak Sung, Chairman and CEO of Young One Corporation and Korean EPZ, Syed Mahmudul Haque, member of the Board of Trustees of CIU, and teachers and students of the university.
