Bulbul bans mobile phones at BCB board meeting
Aminul Islam Bulbul has been elected as the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the second time. Addressing a press conference today after being elected, he said that from now on, mobile phones will be banned in BCB board meetings.
Earlier, many confidential information or various matters of the board directors have been made public. Even screenshots of their own secret messages have been made public. The issue created an embarrassing situation for BCB policymakers during the election period. The newly elected president Bulbul has decided to ban the use of mobile phones in the board of directors’ meetings to prevent information leakage.
Bulbul said, ‘With respect, I say that we are all mature. We will all try to follow the work rules. We will not allow phones in the next board meeting. We will try to work as a professional board. If someone does (leak their confidential information), it is not a good practice.’
Bulbul became the director and BCB president again unopposed today. His becoming the president was certain after Tamim Iqbal withdrew his candidacy at the last minute. All that was left was the formalities of the election. After various dramatic and controversial events, Bulbul became the president of the BCB after the election at a five-star hotel in the capital today. Another former captain, Faruk Ahmed, was elected as the vice-president.
