Desk Reports:
On Saturday (September 13) afternoon, Raksu Chief Election Commissioner Professor F. Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter. He said that the work of making the ballot boxes has been divided among several organizations. Each box will cost Tk 3,400.
Professor Nazrul said, “Our ballot paper cannot be folded. So if transparent boxes are used, then who the voters are voting for will be visible from the outside. That is why steel boxes are being made. These can be used in future elections as well.”
Regarding the withdrawal of nominations, he said that a total of 320 candidates can be in the fray from Raksu and the Hall Sangsad. Candidates can start campaigning only after the final list is published.
Regarding the counting of votes, he further said, “All votes will be counted by electronic machines. There will be polling stations in academic buildings. After the voting, all the ballot boxes will be collected and counted under the supervision of an expert committee.”
