Desk Reports :

The next national parliamentary elections will be held by February 15, 2026, as per the schedule announced by the interim government. The Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam reaffirmed this on Friday (September 12).

While visiting the ancestral home of renowned poet Farrukh Ahmed in Sreepur Upazila of Magura, Shafiqul Alam reiterated the interim government’s announcement regarding the date of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Regarding the differences of opinion among political parties regarding the elections, the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary said that it is very natural for political parties to have differences of opinion. If there were no differences, there would not have been separate parties.

At this time, Shafiqul Alam reiterated that the elections will be held on time. He also assured that there is no possibility of the elections being postponed. He also warned of strict resistance to any attempt to disrupt the electoral process.

The Press Secretary said that the elections will be held in the first half of February as per the promise of the interim government. No conspiracy to sabotage this process will succeed.

He said, “This election will not only determine the future of the government, but will also lay the foundation for the next elections and the country’s overall political system.”
