The umpires had set the deadline for the start of the game at 9:48 pm Bangladesh time after seeing the field. But if the rain continued in Sylhet, the game could not start. When the game started, the visiting Dutch team would have had the opportunity to bat in 5 overs in pursuit of the target using the DLS method. But the rain did not allow that to happen! So the match was abandoned.
Bangladesh has previously defeated Ireland, West Indies, and England in this edition of cricket. The Netherlands could have joined this list, but that didn’t happen due to rain.
