Nasir Hossain has been out of the national team for a long time. This batting all-rounder returned to cricket last April after serving a match-fixing ban. He is making every effort to regain himself in domestic cricket. In continuation of that, Nasir shone against Chittagong today in the National Cricket League (NCL).
Rangpur won by 5 wickets against Chittagong in the first match of the day at the Sylhet Academy Ground with his all-rounder skills. They defeated the port city team after 3 consecutive wins. This is Rangpur’s second win in the tournament. Nasir won the player of the match award.
The bowlers created a fear for Rangpur’s victory today. Batting first, Chittagong could not score more than 138 runs under the controlled bowling of the opponent bowlers. Chasing the target, Rangpur secured the victory with 12 balls in hand. Nasir scored 43 runs off 32 balls. He made an innings with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Zahid Javed scored 39 runs playing the same number of balls as Nasir. Captain Akbar Ali scored an unbeaten 26 runs off the bat in 14 balls. Iqbal Hossain remained unbeaten on 16 runs. Hasan Murad took 2 wickets for Chittagong.
Earlier, no other batsman could stand up for Chittagong, who lost the toss, except for one Irfan Shukkur. This wicketkeeper batsman played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs off 46 balls.
