2 die of dengue in one day, 396 hospitalized

Two people have died of dengue in the country in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 396 people have been admitted to hospitals.

This information was given in a notification sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday (October 2). In the notification, the Directorate General of Health Services gave information for 24 hours from 8 am yesterday, Wednesday to 8 am today.

The Directorate General of Health Services said that 396 people have been admitted to various hospitals across the country including Dhaka due to dengue in the last 24 hours. Of these, 87 have been admitted in Barisal division (outside the City Corporation), 96 in Chittagong division (outside the City Corporation), 90 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 52 in Dhaka North City, 56 in Dhaka South City and 15 in Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation).

Meanwhile, 409 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country in the last one day. With this, 45,682 people have been discharged this year.

A 16-year-old girl died in 24 hours. She was undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Another man (27) was undergoing treatment at DNCC Dedicated Covid-19 Hospital.

According to the Health Department, 10 people died of dengue in January, 3 in February, 7 in April, 3 in May, 19 in June, 41 in July, 39 in August and 76 in September. No one died in March. This year, 202 people have died of dengue till October 2.

The Health Department said that a total of 48,228 patients have been admitted to the hospital since January this year. Of these, 1,161 were admitted in January, 374 in February, 336 in March, 701 in April, 1,773 in May, 5,951 in June, 10,496 in August and 15,866 in September.
