Another renowned artist of the subcontinent, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, sang a Bengali song to the tune of renowned singer Runa Laila. The song titled ‘Bhalobaasa Amar Par Hoye’ was written by Kabir Bakul. Recently, Rahat Fateh Ali lent his voice to another Bengali song. The song titled ‘Tumi Amar Prem Piyasa’ was also written by Kabir Bakul. The tune and music were arranged by Raja Kashef. The song features a duet with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan by UK-based Bangladeshi singer Rubaiyat Jahan. The song will be released today under the banner of Dhruba Music Station.
The voice recording of the song was done by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Rubaiyat Jahan at Playback Creative Studio in Dubai. Expressing his feelings after lending his voice to the new Bengali song, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said, ‘I really enjoyed singing the song. I liked both the lyrics and the melody of the song. Raja Kashef has composed the tune beautifully. I have sung songs written by Kabir Bakul before. Rubaiyat is also very good as a co-artist.’
Rubaiyat Jahan is excited to sing a duet with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. She said, ‘When I met Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in London, he himself told me about his love for Bengali songs. When he expressed his interest in singing new Bengali songs, Raja Kashef proposed to him to sing this song and he agreed. He sang the song with great sincerity. Being able to sing with a legendary artist like him is one of the achievements of my life. During the voice recording, he said that he liked the lyrics, melody and music very much.’
Lyricist Kabir Bakul said, ‘I wrote the song about three years ago. Sometimes Raja Kashef told me that work on the song was going on. Then suddenly he said that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will sing the song. He has sung songs written by me in the tune of Runa Laila before. The new song is also written by me, undoubtedly this is happy news for me as a lyricist. It feels very good.’
The organizer, composer and music director of the song, Raja Kashef, said that the video of the song was shot in London. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has participated in the video. In addition to the Dhruv Music Station YouTube channel, the song can be heard on multiple music platforms including Swadhin Music, Spotify, Apple Music.
