Desk Report:
Google is synonymous with new devices and applications. Every year, their research team brings something new to the world of technology. Some of Google’s surprising devices and features are coming to the market at the end of this year. The specialty of this time is that Google is using AI technology in a more advanced way with all its new technologies. It is believed that these upcoming devices and features of Google will create new examples in the world of technology.
Gemini for Home
One of Google’s discussed technologies is Gemini. This time it is going to be added to smart home devices under the name Gemini for Home. It will replace Google Assistant in smart speakers and smart displays. Gemini for Home will work better with users’ more advanced realistic language understanding, complex commands and other features. It will be coming to the market from next October, there will be two versions, free and subscription.
Various tasks can be done through this AI-supported voice assistant. These include:
Listening to music or searching for information.
Controlling smart home devices like lights or AC.
Create a calendar, set a to-do list, or start a timer.
Even complex commands can be given.
Gemini for Home will make the user’s daily life easier, from cooking to travel planning.
Google Beam
We all use Google Meet for video communication. However, Google is now bringing more advanced telepresence technology, which can give a new dimension to future video calls. Project Starline, which started a few years ago, is now known as Google Beam. It is capable of giving the user a realistic three-dimensional appearance without special glasses or headsets. Imagine, as if you are seeing a person standing on the other side of a magic mirror in 3D or three-dimensional form in front of your eyes.
This experience is possible with a combination of computer vision, machine learning, special audio, and real-time compression technology. Recently, Google and HP jointly unveiled the Google Beam device. This device, which looks like a large monitor, has multiple cameras and sensors, which create a 3D image of the user. However, it will not be available at the consumer level right now. Initially, it has been released only to offices, industrial establishments and special customers in a limited way.
Nest Doorbell
Google has been working on creating smart home devices for a long time. In continuation of this, an AI-powered smart doorbell is coming this time. Google will unveil three devices named Nest Doorbell, Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor at its hardware event in October. The new Nest Doorbell will have 2K resolution video recording facilities and a 166-degree viewing angle. Its big change is the addition of Google’s AI system Gemini. As a result, the doorbell will be able to more accurately detect events outside the door, give alarms, and even respond to voice commands.
Google’s innovations this year are particularly eye-catching. Because they are deeply integrating AI into people’s communication, security and daily lives. All in all, these technologies from Google will make the future of life easier and more realistic.
