BNP will do only that which benefits Bangladesh and the people of the country: Mirza Fakhrul

Desk Report:

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the Bangladeshis living abroad (NRBs) to unite in the reconstruction of Bangladesh. He said, “I have a request to you, let us unite on one issue today, and that is Bangladesh.”

He made this call while speaking at a session of the event titled ‘NRB Connect Day. Empowering Global Bangladeshis’ held at the New York Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway) in Manhattan on Saturday.

In his speech, Mirza Fakhrul also said, “We have to remember one thing, we have to dream. We have to take forward the dream that Professor Yunus has shown.”

He mentioned that the most important thing is to be committed.

He commented that the previous dictatorial regime destroyed the trust of the people and devastated the country.

The BNP Secretary General said that his party is cooperating with the work of the reform commissions formed by the interim government. He said, “I want to make it clear to everyone that BNP will do only that work that benefits Bangladesh and the people of the country.”

Mirza Fakhrul said that the country’s young generation thinks in a modern way and BNP has the mentality to adopt their modern thinking. He expressed hope that the youth will play an important role in building the future of Bangladesh.

The keynote address was presented by Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Jamaat-e-Islami Naib-e-Amir Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain also spoke at the event.
