Salman Khan suffered from unbearable pain in his face for 7 years, what is the disease?

Desk Report:

Bollywood’s brother Salman Khan recently opened up about his long-term illness in an interview. He said that this painful disease began in 2007 during the shooting of the movie ‘Partner’. The disease has plagued him for seven and a half years.

Salman Khan was a guest on the first episode of the talk show ‘To Much with Kajal and Twinkle’ directed by Konkona Sen Sharma and Kajol.

Salman said that the first symptoms of this disease appeared during the shooting of the movie ‘Partner’ with Lara Dutta. He said, ‘I was doing “Partner”. Lara was there. When she removed a hair from my face, I felt pain. I jokingly said, “Wah Lara, you are all electricity!” That’s where my disease started.’

Describing the disease since then, the 59-year-old brother said that this pain made daily life difficult. He said, ‘You have to live with it. Many people have survived bypass surgery, heart disease and many more. When I had trigeminal neuralgia, the pain was such that you wouldn’t want even your worst enemy to suffer like that.’

Salman said that he had been suffering from this pain for seven and a half years. The pain would suddenly start every four to five minutes. It would also happen while talking. He said, ‘It would take me about an hour and a half to have breakfast. Then I would have dinner. I would have to fight to eat an omelette. I would endure the pain as much as possible and finish the meal somehow.’

Initially, many thought that Salman’s pain was due to a dental problem. But later it was known that it was something more complicated. The actor said that to cope with this condition, he used to take 750 mg of painkillers every day. However, he also mentioned that drinking a little (alcohol), the pain would reduce to some extent.

What is trigeminal neuralgia?

According to the Mayo Clinic, a private medical service in the United States, trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a type of chronic nerve disease. The disease affects the trigeminal nerve in the face and causes sudden, severe, electric shock-like pain in the face. The pain can be triggered by even the slightest touch to the face, brushing teeth, eating food, or even light air.
