Akhtar files lawsuit in US over Kennedy Airport incident

Desk Report:

National Citizens Party (NCP) member secretary Akhtar Hossain has filed a case against Awami League workers in connection with the attack and egg-throwing incident in New York.

Akhtar Hossain filed the case at the Port Authority Police Department police station next to John F. Kennedy Airport at 1 am on Wednesday (11 am Bangladesh time on Thursday) local time in New York. Akhtar gave this information in a video message on the NCP’s official Facebook page today (September 25).

In the video message, Akhtar Hossain said, “After the attack at the airport, Awami terrorists came to the hotel lobby again this evening with the intention of attacking. At that time, NCP members and my well-wishers who were staying in the United States resisted them and contacted the police. Later, the police investigation officer came and advised us to file a case. In view of this, I went to the police station very close to the airport. We have filed a case against those who attacked us, attempted to kill us and threatened us that day.

It is learnt that two names have been mentioned in the case. Apart from this, 15 to 20 unidentified attackers have also been mentioned. Akhtar alleged that even after the attack that day, these people are trying to attack us in various ways in the airport lobby and other places.
