Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio‘s new movie is ‘One Battle After Another’. The action thriller movie is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The movie will be released internationally on September 26. One Battle After Another will be shown at Star Cineplex in Bangladesh from the same day.
Inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vinland, published in 1990, One Battle After Another was made by Paul Thomas Anderson. It is said that he made the movie for a long time, 20 years. In the story of the movie, members of a former revolutionary group reunite after 16 years to rescue a girl from their group.
Although the work on the movie initially started in June 2023, the shooting began in full swing from January 22, 2024. The initial name of this movie, filmed in various locations in America, was ‘The Battle of Buckton Cross’. Later, to avoid some complications, it was changed to ‘One Battle After Another’. The teaser of the film was released by the distributor Warner Bros. on March 20. After the teaser, the audience’s interest in the film has been noticed. The $175 million budget film is being called the most ambitious project of director Anderson’s career.
In an interview with the BBC, DiCaprio called the film a mirror of society. He said, “Anderson always makes great films, but this time he seems to have surpassed himself. This film shows the division and extreme polarization of our culture. Although the film does not have a specific message, a kind of influence of extremism has been shown.”
DiCaprio also said, “Although One Battle After Another is a political film, there is no direct statement about politics. The director said everything in the guise of entertainment.”
This film has a mix of political satire, black comedy and action, which is gaining praise from critics. It is believed that the film will add a new level of success to the careers of both Leonardo DiCaprio and director Anderson.
The film also stars Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Chase Infinity, and others.
