Interview published in Indian newspaper under Mirza Fakhrul’s name is false and fabricated: BNP
BNP has said that the interview of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir recently published in the Kolkata-based Bengali newspaper ‘Ai Samoy’ in India is false and fabricated.
This reaction was expressed in a statement signed by BNP’s Joint Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu on Wednesday. The statement said that a baseless news was published that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had recently given an interview to the Kolkata-based Bengali daily newspaper ‘Ai Samoy’ in India. An interview of his was published in the newspaper yesterday under the title ‘Fakhrul wants Awami League and Jatiya Party in the elections’, which is blatantly false and fabricated.
The statement also said that the BNP Secretary General has not recently given an interview to any foreign media. The imaginary interview has been broadcasted to deliberately tarnish the image of the party and the Secretary General. The purpose of this fabricated statement is to create doubt and suspicion in the minds of the people of Bangladesh. There is no room for the people of the country and party leaders and activists to be confused about the untrue statements published in the aforementioned foreign Bengali media.
