Chief Advisor arrives in New York
Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government, has arrived in New York, USA, to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
A commercial flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the chief advisor and his entourage landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 3 pm local time on Monday.
This year, the chief advisor’s entourage includes six political leaders. Among them are BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Acting Chairman’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir, Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, National Citizens Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and Joint Convener Dr. Tasneem Zara.

In addition, Jamaat leader Naqibur Rahman Tareq joined the delegation from the United States.
Earlier, at 1:40 am (Bangladesh time) on September 22, the Emirates Airlines flight carrying the Chief Advisor and his entourage departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for New York.
As per the schedule, Professor Yunus will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 26.
