Student parliament election will have impact on national elections: Jamaat Ameer

Desk Report:

The recently held student union elections will have an impact on the next national parliamentary elections, said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the party’s Central Women’s Divisional Majlish-e-Shura session held at the Al Falah Auditorium of the Jamaat Central Office today (September 20).

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Islami Chhatra Shibir has won the DUCSU and JACSU elections. Many are overwhelmed by this victory. The impact of this election will also be felt in the next national elections, God willing.”

The Jamaat Ameer said, “We hope to elect 300 seats in the next elections with those who like us, love us and those whom we like and love.”

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Our leaders have patiently endured various types of imprisonment, oppression, and torture by the Awami fascist government. Many have given their lives. In exchange for their sacrifices, today we have the opportunity to work in a free and independent environment. Our job is to fulfill our responsibilities. Allah Ta’ala is the one who gives results. We have to thank Allah. We cannot boast of our achievements with excessive enthusiasm. We have to be humble. We have to be servants of the people.’

He also said, ‘In exchange for many movements, sacrifices and sacrifices, we got a new Bangladesh on August 5, 2024. ‘Many gave their lives in the July-August movement of 2024. Many lost their hands, legs and eyes. In exchange for the sacrifices and sacrifices of all of us, Allah gave us a great victory. May Allah reward us all for that sacrifice in this world and the hereafter – this is my prayer.’
