Desk Report:
Another 53 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip. They were killed in Israeli shelling and gunfire across the Strip on Sunday. According to the Qatari media outlet Al-Jazeera, 35 of the dead were residents of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, two more Palestinians have died of malnutrition in the past 24 hours. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 422 people have died of malnutrition in the Strip.
According to Al-Jazeera, on Sunday, the Israeli army destroyed at least 16 multi-storey buildings in Gaza City, three of which were residential buildings. The Hamas-controlled government strongly condemned such attacks by Israel on civilian structures. The Gaza authorities have called the attacks a systematic bombardment. In their statement, the main objective of this operation is ‘genocide and forced displacement’.
In a statement, the government said that Israel claims to be targeting only armed groups, but in reality, schools, mosques, hospitals, medical centers are being hit indiscriminately. Cities, residential buildings, shelter tents, and even the offices of international humanitarian organizations are being destroyed.
The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said in a post on social media that in the past four days alone, 10 of the agency’s buildings in Gaza City had been attacked. These included seven schools and two medical centers. These were places where thousands of displaced people were sheltering.
