5 people die of dengue, 622 hospitalized
Five people have died of dengue in the country in the last 24 hours. In addition, 622 more people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue fever during this period.
This information was given in a notification sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (September 17). In the notification, the Directorate General of Health Services gave information for the 24 hours from 8 am on Tuesday (September 16) to 8 am today, Wednesday.
The notification stated that among the dengue patients in the past 24 hours, 199 people were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City, 131 in Barisal Division (excluding City Corporation), 104 in Dhaka Division (excluding City Corporation), 98 in Chittagong Division (excluding City Corporation), 51 in Rajshahi Division (excluding City Corporation), 19 in Mymensingh Division (excluding City Corporation), 14 in Khulna Division (excluding City Corporation) and 6 in Rangpur Division (excluding City Corporation).
Of the five people who died in the past 24 hours, four were women and one was a man. Three of them were admitted to Rajshahi Medical C ollege Hospital and the remaining two were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
This year, 161 people have died of dengue till September 17. In addition, 39,814 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue so far this year. So far, 37,688 people have been discharged from the hospital.
