4 people die of dengue in one day, record number of patients admitted

Four people have died in the country in the last 24 hours due to dengue fever. All of them died in hospitals in Dhaka. At the same time, 845 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue. This is the highest number of patients admitted to hospitals in a single day.

This information was given in a notification sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (September 28). In the notification, the Directorate General of Health Services gave information for the 24 hours from 8 am yesterday Saturday to 8 am today Sunday.

The notification said that among the dengue victims in the past 24 hours, 209 people were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City, 166 in Barisal Division (excluding City Corporation), 164 in Dhaka Division (excluding City Corporation), 91 in Chittagong Division (excluding City Corporation), 54 in Rajshahi Division (excluding City Corporation), 37 in Mymensingh Division (excluding City Corporation), 101 in Khulna Division (excluding City Corporation), 17 in Rangpur Division (excluding City Corporation) and 6 in Sylhet Division (excluding City Corporation).

Of the four people who died in the past 24 hours, two were women and two were men. Of them, two died in Dhaka South City and two in Dhaka North City.

As of September 28, 192 people have died of dengue this year. In addition, 46,051 people have been admitted to hospitals so far this year due to dengue. So far, 43,629 people have been discharged from hospitals.

Earlier, on September 21, the number of dengue patients admitted to the hospital was 740. This was the second highest admission record in a single day.
